No win for the spin
Another biotech, Infinity Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: INFI ) , also announced clinical results this week. The company's press release trumpeted "encouraging" findings for its experimental leukemia drug. Mr. Market didn't appear to buy the spin. Infinity shares tanked nearly 33% for the week. - [By Bryan Murphy]
When investors think of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma stocks, big names like Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) and Celgene Corporation (NASDAQ:CELG) come to mind. Both GILD and CELG are making prolific progress in the war on NHL, and both are fine, well-positioned companies. It's little Infinity Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:INFI) that may end up making the proverbial quantum leap in the non-Hodgkin's lymphoma stocks arena, however, and better still, it's INFI shares that may well end up doling out a much bigger reward than Gilead or Celgene could to newcomers.

They started with the Russell 2000, removed the smallest 40% based on market cap (the aforementioned liquidity issues), then selected the 5% worst performers from among the 30% cheapest stocks based on book-to-price. The result is a bunch of names you never heard of, including Infinity Pharmaceuticals (INFI), Fusion-IO (FIO), Walter Energy (WLT), Hecla Mining (HL) and Molycorp(MCP).

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Rich Smith]
In commemoration of Earth Day, retailer ANN INC (NYSE: ANN ) , the parent company of Ann Taylor and LOFT, says that not only has it already met its goal two years early of reducing its "carbon footprint" by 9% by 2015 but it's doubled it. And ANN isn't done "greening" yet.
- [By Vanina Egea]
However, there is some concern that growing competition from local rivals like Abercrombie & Fitch Inc. (ANF) and Ann Inc. (ANN), and international brands such as Inditex may erode the company麓s margin. Its increase in input costs, inventory per store levels, and negative international comps are also key factors to analyze.
- [By Philip Saglimbeni]
For comparative purposes, alongside Francesca's Holdings, I have chosen to include the growth rates of ANN Inc. (ANN), owner and operator of Ann Taylor and LOFT brands, and Chico's FAS Inc. (CHS). Although Francesca's Holdings manages to separate itself from the majority of companies that target similar consumer groups, ANN and CHS are of similar size, in terms of market capitalization, and operate in similar retail segments and therefore serve as reliable comparisons.
